drive

The Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing. The world economic recovery lacks drive, and commodity prices remain high and are prone to fluctuation. All of this is making our external environment increasingly volatile, grave and uncertain.

[U] (approving) a strong desire to do things and achieve sth; great energy •

»He'll do very well—he has tremendous drive.

1.a drive to raise funds(筹款运动),a membership drive(征求会员运动)等表达方式里的 drive 是美国英语,在英国用 campaign。

2.drive(不及物动词)和 ride(不及物动词)略有不同。 He is driving in his own car, He is driving in a friend's car 和 He is driving in a hired car。 He is riding in a bus, He is riding in a tram-car 和 He is riding in a train。 He is riding in a steamer. drive

He is driving a car. He is driving in a car.

4.He drives his own car

■drive 指驾驶四轮以上的车辆:drive a car, drive a truck等。

Mindful

We must be more mindful of potential difficulties, face problems and challenges squarely, make every effort to deliver a satisfactory performance, and do our utmost to live up to people's expectations.

~ of sb / sth | ~ that... (formal) remembering sb / sth and considering them or it when you do sth • 记着;想着;考虑到 SYN conscious :

»mindful of our responsibilities

»Mindful of the danger of tropical storms, I decided not to go out.

Mindful of the needs of its students, Cardiff has invested heavily in providing new and improved residences.

◙ prep. , conj. • used to show that you are thinking about a particular fact, and are influenced by it, when you make a statement about sth• 考虑到;就…

»She's very active, considering her age.

»Considering he's only just started, he knows quite a lot about it.

»You've done very well, considering (= in the difficult circumstances).

You write very well considering your age(就你的年龄而论,你可算写得很好)和 You write very well considering how young you are。 You write very well, considering that you are so young. You write very well, considering.(就情形而论,你可算写得很好。)

lend

Lend

To fulfill the development goals and tasks for the year, we should pursue prudent and effective macro policies, micro policies that can continuously energize market entities, and structural policies that facilitate smooth flows in the economy. Science and technology policies should be fully implemented, reform and opening up policies should lend impetus to development, regional policies should ensure more balanced and coordinated development, and social policies should meet basic living needs.

~ sth (to sb / sth) | ~ (sb / sth) sth to give or provide help, support, etc.

▪ [VN] »I was more than happy to lend my support to such a good cause.

▪ [VNN] »He came along to lend me moral support.

come to the fore

A total of 100 billion yuan from the unemployment insurance fund will be used to support enterprises in maintaining stable payrolls and providing training programs, and we will speed up training of skilled workers who are urgently needed to promote high-quality development of manufacturing. These efforts will enable more workers to acquire marketable skills and large numbers of talented people to come to the fore in all sectors.

be / come to the fore

(BrE) (NAmE be at the 'fore) to be / become important and noticed by people; to play an important part•

»She has always been to the fore at moments of crisis.

»The problem has come to the fore again in recent months.

play an important role in?

further

We will further the implementation of policies to ensure fair competition and take stronger action against monopolies and unfair competition to ensure a well-ordered and fair market environment.

◙ verb [VN]• to help sth to develop or be successful• 促进;增进:

»They hoped the new venture would further the cause of cultural cooperation in Europe.

»She took the new job to further her career.
